My neighbor had a loose dog enter their property and chase/scare a 3 year old boy, who inadvertently fell in the swimming pool. NO, he did not know how to swim.

Finally got around to checking this place out for the first time. We came bright and early (right at 8am) on a Sunday, so there unfortunately weren't any friends for our pup to play with, but he still had a great time running around and playing frisbee with us! View is AMAZING here. Facilities were clean and well kept and there was everything a good dog park needs-plenty of parking, running water, a pool, doggy poo bags, a covered area, several benches/chairs, a rest room, rubbish cans, and even a few community toys in case you forgot yours at home. There is an "all dogs" side and a "small dogs" side. We really enjoyed our visit (and we know our fur baby certainly did!) and will definitely stop by again when we are on the north shore again! Now I'm just wishing we had one on in Kalaheo!

Bicycles can be rented to ride the trails at the Miniature Golf Course located on the State Highway in Kilauea and the trailhead is located close by and will also take you to the Dog Park on the 5 miles walk, run, bike trail.

It would appear the double gate is not sufficient to contain dogs in safe manner.

Horrible experience, one loose dog broke my hen's wing and another loose dog punctured my rooster's foot..........the people using the park need supervision. As a very concerned property owner close to the park, first things first...Educating dog owners on their responsibility to properly secure dogs OR NOT USING facilities should be a priority. This has been quite an effort and caused much anguish.

Also, there is an approximately 5 miles trail system that is open to the public where dogs are allowed with others who either, walk, run or bike, along the 5 miles trail system. Leashes are advised to be used with the owners dog for public safety. It's a beautiful flat walk within the large open fields and forested areas.

Two, large designated fenced-in gated areas for small and large dogs. Grass areas within each enclosed compounds are well maintained and cleaned with water available in both areas. There is signage, on the in bound road from the State Highway on the left side pointing to, the Dog Park. Parking available fronting each fenced in area. Leashes recommended and owners of K-9's shall be responsible in seeing that their dogs "play nicely" with others within the fenced in areas and while being moved to and from the owners vehicles.

Beautiful view of the mountains. Plenty of shade. The dogs loved it!
