I really loved this place. The views are amazing and the history is very interesting. Take the time to read all the plaques for the best information. The lighthouse is in very good condition. The visitor center has some great items and I recommend buying a bag from them to carry all if the great things you will want to buy. Then use the bag over again at the grocery store. Buy a bird book here to keep track of all the birds you will see. Good for the entire family.

If you enjoy the ocean, breathtaking scenery, island birds and/or history this national park is a must see! The grounds are beautifully maintained, the lighthouse is magnificent, birds are dying over your head all with startlingly beautiful dramatic coastline. The entrance fee is $25 but it’s worth every penny. You won’t be sorry!

In order to see the lighthouse you pay $5 per person (15 and under free). It is supposed to be a wildlife refugee as well, but it’s just a few geese. Yes, of course, the view of the water is great, but there is a free lookout right before you enter that would suffice. There isn’t even a hike to the lighthouse-it’s just a short walk. Really not worth it in my opinion.

What a location! The view was fantastic along with the flora and fauna. What I liked most about this were the extremely knowledgeable service members. They were walking around and were extremely helpful in identifying the wildlife. They all had an infectious enthusiasm about the site and everything involved with it.

This place is gorgeous. Well maintained. Lots of bird life. On a side note, if you are there anyways, get a chance to stop off at the Japanese cemetery. This is the first/second left turnoff after you leave the lighthouse area. A real hidden gem and we always visit. You will not be disappointed.
